OK,Say you’re alone miles from anywhere, your low on supplies and you cut your foot. Subsequently, your foot becomes infected (regular, not zombie) and then gangrenous. After amputating the foot you will have suffered some blood loss, and therefore need to eat to regain you strength. If you cut the black bits off is the rest of the meat ok to eat? or will it just make you sick?
