I think the remake is scarier but the original is creepier – it stays with you longer.

Never seen them. I mean I might have. Was Dawn of the Dead with the chainsaw bus?

Impossible question to answer. Both were great films in their own right. Any zombie fan should enjoy both.

Not true. It depends on the acting and how well the movies relate to zombie myth.

Well if you really want to be technical and basing all Zombie mythology on Romero’s rules, then the Dawn of the Dead breaks that simply because they are runners. I agree with @thingjob…it is really hard to make a choice. If I HAD to choose I am a huge fan of runners, cuz it simply makes it terrifying.

Wasn’t the introduction of runners also the introduction to a new myth?

What we saw when the runners were made was an evolution in film. It changed the game. Making zombies into something new and fresh. Do I prefer runners to the original? I honestly can’t say yes or no. I’d prefer to deal with the slow moving ones given a choice but in a horror movies the victims are seldom given a choice.

Also considering the original was made by the great the great george romero
I’d say it followed the myth exactly. Considering it took place in the same setting as Night of the Living Dead. All the actors in it did a fantastic job.

P.S. Just don’t compare Day of the Dead to the remake. The remake was horrible. lol

The dog thing was pretty useful. Could use them as carrier dogs.
